Asphalt Shingle Roofs

For a cost-efficient roof that's durable and easy to maintain, Tampa Roofs offers asphalt shingle roofs.
The most common type of roof is one with asphalt shingles--not only are they durable, but they are also inexpensive as compared to other roof materials. Asphalt shingles are easy to install, and they're offered in many different styles and colors. Additionally, asphalt shingle roofs are relatively simple to repair and maintain.
Asphalt shingles are made up of glass fiber or an organic felt material. With organic shingles, a coating of adhesive asphalt is applied and ceramic granules are set in. Organic shingles consist of approximately 40 percent more asphalt per square than glass fiber shingles, making them heavier with outstanding durability.
Glass fiber shingles have a reinforcing mat made up of glass fiber that is molded to the shape of the shingle. A topcoat of asphalt, which contains mineral fillers and contributes to the waterproof aspect of the shingle, is then applied to the mat. Then, the mat is covered with an adhesive asphalt and the ceramic granules are embedded.
Glass fiber shingles are more popular than their organic counterpart. Why? Glass fiber shingles are less expensive and easier to manufacturer than organic shingles.
The lifespan of an asphalt shingle roof depends largely on the climate. Asphalt shingles in cooler climates appear to last longer than those in warmer weather. Additionally, proper roof ventilation helps to extend the life of an asphalt shingle roof.
With asphalt shingles, you'll enjoy a long-lasting roof at an affordable price!
